Staff Sgt. Paul Olmos III, 802nd Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, leads members from the 902nd and 802nd SFS with members of local police departments during a bus assault and hostage rescue exercise at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Camp Talon. Security Forces and local police departments trained together to prepare for emergencies that require both military and civilian response efforts. The AIR FORCE INSTALLATION and MISSION SUPPORT CENTER serves as the single intermediate-level headquarters responsible for providing installation and mission support capabilities to 77 Air Force and Space Force installations, eight major commands and two direct reporting units. The AFIMSC cross-functional team provides globally integrated management, resourcing and combat support operations for Airman and family services, base communications, chaplain programs, civil engineering, contracting, logistics readiness, public affairs, security forces and financial management.

Partnership Focus

Air Force Materiel Command and American Federation of Government Employees Council 214 met at Tinker Air Force Base for a Partnership Council meeting Oct. 30-31. Fighter sustainment

The first F135 engine for the United States Marine Corps' F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter arrived at Bldg. 3001 June 23. According to base officials, Tinker will support the entire JSF program at the depot level for Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps engines. The new speedline to repair the engines will originally have 60 days to apply the upgrade to the engines and will eventually go down to a 30-day turnaround. See the story in next week’s paper.
