Robins wins a top maintenance award in Defense Department Published Aug. 30, 2012 Robins Public Affairs ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- A team from the base has been awarded the "Super Bowl" equivalent of maintenance awards for having the best programmed depot line in the Department of Defense. The Office of the Secretary of Defense announced today that Robins C-130 team is the 2012 winner of the esteemed Robert T. Mason Depot Maintenance Award. "Words cannot express how proud I am for this significant accomplishment," said Brig. Gen. Cedric George, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex commander. "This is similar to winning the Super Bowl in our business!" The team returned 64 aircraft back to the warfighter and made drastic improvements in the time taken to repair the aircraft. By the end of fiscal year 2011, they reached a 100 percent on-time delivery rate. The award will be presented to the team in Grand Rapids, Mich on Nov. 15 during the 2012 Defense Department Maintenance Symposium. This is the second straight year an AFSC complex has won the Mason Award. Last year, the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex won the award for its KC-135 depot maintenance program.
