Lt. Gen. Tom Miller, Air Force Sustainment Center commander, his spouse, Kim Miller, and Chief Master Sgt. Robert Schultz, AFSC command chief, visited Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Nov. 1 - 5, for their first immersion as the AFSC command team.

While at Robins, the team visited many different elements at Robins pertaining to the Air Force's sustainment mission, such as the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, the 78th Air Base Wing, and AFSC contracting and engineering units located at Robins.

The team received mission updates and tours of the 402nd Aircraft Maintenance Group and the 402nd Electronics Maintenance Group.

They visited the 402nd Commodities Maintenance Group, which included a robotics demonstration and a visit to Robins North, a partnership between Robins, the Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority and Central Georgia Technical College that combines higher education, training and real-world workplace operations in one location.

They also visited the 402nd Software Engineering Group, where Miller took the opportunity to fly a simulated helicopter rescue mission, and toured Project Synergy, which was established as a partnership between Robins and the Houston County Board of Education to promote STEM education and meet the growing software workloads of the Air Force.

Kim Miller received numerous quality of life updates about the programs available at Robins for its Airmen and their families, including various 78th Force Support Squadron programs through the Airman & Family Readiness Center, the fitness center and the library. She visited family housing and the dorms where she sought out areas she could advocate on Team Robins behalf for things they may need to bolster their programs. She also spent a good part of her visit looking at the various education programs here in the area, such as Robins North, Project Synergy, the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center, and STARBASE Robins, a Department of Defense program utilized to foster an interest in STEM sciences among youth.
