Return to full capacity; a message from the AFSC commander

Teammates,

Across the Air Force Sustainment Center, we are taking actions to “Return to Full Capacity.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have collectively adapted to considerable changes to how we operate our installations and work centers. Where the job can effectively be performed through teleworking, we’ve done so to help curb contact. Others have been reporting to AFSC’s frontlines every day, diligently adhering to necessary social distancing measures and wearing Personal Protective Equipment not previously required for your job.

For all: I see your commitment and I’m proud of you. You’ve been agile in our constantly evolving struggle with COVID-19. Thank you.

As local public health conditions allow, we will incrementally bring back employees to work. It will be important to continue to follow the added safety precautions and “conspicuous cleaning” measures. Some will be asked to work alternate shifts in order to increase social distancing in the workspace. I expect that this “new abnormal” will endure for the foreseeable future.

The mission you accomplish every day is critical to the defense of this nation. As commander, I will continue to balance the health and safety of our employees with mission requirements.

Local commanders and directors are taking a thoughtful and deliberate approach to implementing unit plans, working within established health guidelines. Leadership will make the right protective equipment and cleaning supplies available—if you do not have what you need, ask your supervisor.

As the “Return to Full Capacity” moves forward, I appreciate your dedication to our Air Force mission.

I am proud to be your teammate.
